Johan Nus began classical dance training at the age of five. As a teenager, he earned his Royal Academy of Dance certifications with honors, followed by the French State Diploma in classical dance. At the same time, he completed a Master’s degree in Industrial Economics at the University of Nancy II. Driven by a passion for multidisciplinary performance, he further trained in contemporary dance at the National Dance Center in Lyon, while also studying voice and acting.

After performing leading roles from the classical repertoire and participating in numerous contemporary creations, Johan was cast in Snow White, directed by Jean-Luc Moreau at the Folies Bergère. This marked the beginning of his career in musical theatre and opera houses, where he went on to perform in productions such as Fiddler on the Roof, Grease, My Fair Lady, La Vie Parisienne, The Medium (Menotti), Les Mamelles de Tirésias (Poulenc), and Aladdin.

For over fifteen years, he has choreographed a wide range of musical productions for major institutions. He notably contributed to the creation of Est-ce que j’ai une gueule d’Arletty? (Molière Award for Best Musical, 2020) and Frozen (Molière Award for Best Family Show, 2023) at the Comédie-Française. He also created Madiba in Australia following its French premiere. In addition to family productions (Tom Sawyer, Peter Pan, The Little Match Girl), audiences have also seen his work in Las Vegas productions such as Twisted Vegas and Magical Dreams.

Johan Nus is also the choreographer of the 20th Anniversary Parade at Disneyland Paris and collaborates regularly on major events for the company. He has created bespoke productions for international brands and institutions including Amazon in Paris, Hermès in Japan, Elephant Live in Malaysia, the Pierre Cardin Foundation, the Salon du Chocolat (over seven seasons), and Coca-Cola at the Olympia, among others.

A versatile creative artist, Johan also lends his talent to magazines, advertising campaigns, and music videos. He serves as artistic director for major international television formats such as Got Talent, The X Factor, and Mask Singer.

He is also a member of the group Les Ménilmontant under Sony Classical, contributing to the creation of a stage production based on the album.

In recent years, he has directed several large-scale productions, including ballets such as The Wall (Palais des Congrès and Zenith arena tour) and Swan Lake on the Water (for the Kharkiv Opera and the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, followed by international tours), as well as musicals: The Little Mermaid at the Olympia, Noah, The Strength to Live at the Palais des Congrès, The Sound of Music on an Opera house tour, The Wizard of Oz for the Opera houses of Vichy and Saint-Étienne, West Side Story for La Fabrique Opéra, and most recently Once Upon a Time in Dubai, the first musical ever created in the Middle East.
